Emily, my behind-the-scenes Macaroni partner, is due with her second child in a little over a week!  And although she is the cutest pregnant woman ever I am so excited to meet her new addition!  Please keep her in your thoughts!

Tiny Scientists - Art Lab is Macaroni Kid’s newest parent/child program giving kids 18mos to 6 yrs opportunities to explore and discover the world around them through art!  The Art Lab is a 1 hour class for five weeks running the week of February 16 through the week of March 15, 2012.

Young children need and benefit from regular exposure to art experiences that encourage the development of their creative self-expression, independence and open-ended exploration of a variety of interesting materials.  In this class your child will find many ...

Thursday, January 26 - Lumberjack Night at Pedersen Elementary

Break out your flannel and be ready to experience Pedersen’s very 1st annual lumberjack night designed for families with children in grades pre-k through 4th. We will start the evening off in the commons area with a FREE hardy pancake breakfast (for dinner) fit for a lumberjack.
Following dinner, all children will have the opportunity to pick out a FREE book and then take part in listening to our special guest speaker local lumberjack & fiddle player Igmar Torffelsson. Mr. Torffelsson will share some tall tales of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox. To top the evening off the children will have the opportunity to create a sock puppet of their favorite book character. We hope to see you there!

Friday, January 27 - Beauty and the Beast Musical

Based on the animated Disney film, this "tale as old as time" is filled with spectacular costumes and sets and has been a great opportunity to bring our entire MACS community together for family theatre at its best. Twenty-nine students will take the main roles in the show and are joined by 18 adults to complete the production.

Mono-printing: Five minute warm-up:  Today we will make constructions of blocks and quickly draw them. Then I will present  Mono-Printing. The young artists  paint designs and images on white boards then make prints of their creations.  I am looking forward to this creative activity.  It is one of my favorites. Everyone always makes lots of these prints.

Enjoy a 5-mile snowshoe race, a 2-mile snowshoe run/walk, a 1-hr snow bike race, pr a kids & mascots sprint on the trails of Lowes Creek County Park. Racers can expect prize drawings, food & beverage, s'mores and a bonfire. Whether you're a veteran racer, complete beginner or just a spectator, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Saturday, January 28 - 13th Annual Locopalooza Show Choir Competition

The 13th annual Locopalooza Show Choir competition begins at 8:30am with an exhibition performance by the Altoona Middle School show choir. Teams from Chippewa Falls, Colby, Eau Claire Memorial, Fort Atkinson, Green Bay East, Holmen, Milton, Neenah, North St. Paul, and Tomah will perform during the daytime preliminary competition, with the top six scoring teams competing in the evening finals. Altoona High School's show choirs, Locomotion and Enginuity, will perform. Concessions will be available throughout the day.

SAMmy’s (Strength Among Moms Ministry), an interdenominational Bible study and fellowship group for moms of all ages and walks of faith, offers weekly groups in Eau Claire. The morning group meets from 9:30 to 11 a.m., and the evening group meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Both groups meet on Wednesdays at Harvestime Church when Eau Claire schools are in session from September through May.
